Fighting a Crisis: The World's Biggest Mission

What is climate change?

This global threat is said to be one of the greatest threats our planet has ever faced, and the pressure to rectify this danger has been building for years.

Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, such as through variations in the solar cycle. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas.

With some doubters to the climate change issues, the point is that our planet goes through cycles of high temperatures and drastic changes in weather. Although this has evidence backing this theory, it cannot be ignored that human interactions have changed our atmosphere and the way our Earth works. Innovation in technological advancements since the 1800s, with industrial revolutions and progress in all fields of science have created this issue and humans need to be held accountable for these actions and have a major duty to change the outcome.

Problems for the future

With climate change being a dangerous threat for our future generations, why wait to start fixing it? In past times the world has sacrificed its future thinking, for present technological advancements. We as people have lead lifestyles with no thought of repercussions and now these threats first posed to us as myths are coming forward to haunt our past decisions. In light of these worries, headed by the younger generations, change needs to start now before it's too late. Not through peaceful protest and not by distribution to people's livelihoods, but through action. Action of each individual that lives on this planet, Our Planet.

Action needs to be taken

These actions that we speak of may sound useless or unnecessary for one individual, yet it becomes vital for all of humanity to come to together as one and achieve these goals as a whole in order to save Earth. In that context, walking/cycling will sound better than driving, making the effort to recycle feel better than being lazy, and inspiring people to follow you will impact more than pressure to change. In addition to this, a growing number of countries are committing to net zero emissions by 2050, and half of all emission cuts by 2030 to keep warming below 1.5°C.. Only through action can we see change, and this action can only come from us, only through perseverance, determination and dreaming for a better future can we overcome this global challenge. With major changes in energy and power we can start to become sustainable in how we live our everyday life, with wind turbines and solar panels the use of fossil fuels can be decreased to start the journey into a better future. Furthermore the introduction of electric cars and the reduction in the production of diesel and petrol cars will help bring down carbon emissions and shows the correct missions in place.

In debt to the earth

We are now not only in debt to the Earth but the bills will need paying as this endeavour of sustainability and an environmentally friendly world will cost. The financial investments required will be vast, as fighting climate change is expensive and committing to new structure systems can be hard for industrialized countries as it can completely change the way a country works. With this in mind, the battle against this crisis can only be resolved with all of humanity coming together and ensuring that we all do something to help. This war will not be won alone, and no continent, no country, no city and no person can win this alone.

Our mission

With all of this in mind it can be said with confidence that this is our mission to save the Earth and humanity as we know it. As if we lose, the Earth will continue. We may ruin it for ourselves, we may ruin it for the life on this planet and the Earth will be in a terrible state. However overtime the Earth will slowly return to its glory with or without us. This highlights how we do not own this planet; we are inhabitants of this great world and it's our duty to take care of it and not ruin it. Our mission is to ensure that we do not cause the failure of this world, that we are not the reason that our children and our children's children cannot grow up and prosper in a beloved and beautiful home.
